Summer Camp News!

drewThorncroft is proud and excited to welcome Drew Wicas as our 2013 Summer Camp Counselor!

Drew was one of our youngest Main Streamers. She has fond memories of attending practices and performing the musical ride. She returns to Thorncroft with a strong riding back ground, competing in Dressage, Jumpers, fox hunting and Eventing. Currently Drew is training a young Event prospect. She is an active member of the Radnor Hunt Pony Club, attending many regional rallies and National Championships and holds the H-B Rating. This certification is made at the National level after the candidate passed extensive testing in horse management.

Through her Pony Club experiences Drew is a knowledgeable teacher who has taught many younger riders to achieve success. Her patience and enthusiasm creates a positive learning experience, helping every rider, whether first time, beginner, intermediate or advanced, gain the skills and confidence needed to improve.

28th Annual Victory Gallop

Dear Friends,

Please join us as we celebrate the upcoming 28th Annual Victory Gallop to be held on April 6, 2013 at the historic Hyatt at The Bellevue. We are pleased to introduce this year's Co-Chairs, Victoria and Lance McCue of West Chester. Victoria and Lance have been loyal, supportive members of the Thorncroft family for several years and we are honored to have them Co-Chair our spectacular gala. The Victory Gallop is Thorncroft's most celebrated and successful fundraising event generating nearly $160,000 annually for our therapeutic riding programs.

Thorncroft has earned a worldwide reputation for helping children and adults with special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries and other physical, mental and emotional challenges. Since 1969, Thorncroft and it's founder, Saunders Dixon, have been recognized as forerunners in the field of therapeutic riding. Many of our riders require financial assistance to participate in our riding programs. The Scholarship Fund, solely supported by our endless fundraising efforts, is the hallmark of our program and crucial in allowing our philosophy of "never turning a rider away solely due to lack of funds" to continue.

Gratefully,

Saunders and Sallie Dixon, 2013 Victory Gallop
