Thorncroft is a mainstreaming facility where people with and without special needs come together to ride, learn and relate to one another. Within this accepting environment they promote growth within each other.
How it Works:
We are a lesson program- students ride at the same time, with the same instructor, each week.
Lessons are either ½ hour private, 45 minutes semi private or 1 hour group lesson (3-6 students).
The cost of lessons is $200 per month. If paid prior to the 7th of the month, there is a discount of $25. Included in this cost are your 4-5 lesson per month- if there are 5 of your day of the week in a particular month, you get a “bonus” ride!
Thorncroft is home to 18 highly qualified instructors, who have several qualifications, including: PATH, Centered Riding, Special Olympics, EAGALA, and Para-Olympics.

We DO NOT do "make up"” lessons if you miss a lesson or cannot make your scheduled ride time.
Students are required to wear proper headgear and footwear. Thorncroft will provide a helmet, if the student does not own one. We suggest that students wear a shoe with a small heel or a boot, as opposed to a sneaker.
Thorncroft has long enjoyed the community resulting from our Working Student Program. Students on the lesson schedule have the opportunity to earn a second lesson in exchange for their working in the barn. Those students over 13 years old can earn an additional lesson with 6 hours of work.
Thorncroft offers the opportunity to learn the necessary job skills that can lead to productive employment and more self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.
